IBANY members and friends will make the end-of-year holidays with its Holiday CEO Breakfast and Insurance Person of the Year recognition on Tuesday, December 10 at the Union League Club in Manhattan. Featured speaker for the morning will be Hank Watkins, recently appointed as Executive Director and Associate Dean of the Greenberg School of Risk Management at St. John's University after 15+ years as Regional Director & President, Americas for Lloyd's. The morning will also feature the celebration and recognition of IBANY 2024 Insurance Person of the Year Linda Merenguelli, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of HUB International Northeast. Linda was nominated by her peers and selected by IBANY's board of directors. The Insurance Person of the Year award is IBANY's most prestigious honor and is presented to an individual who demonstrates strong engagement in the New York Metro insurance agency with a history of positive contribution to the advancement of the industry, who participates in community and/or charitable service organizations, and who encourages and fosters young adults entering the industry through their education, training and advancement. Douglas A. Fenniman, CPCU, ARM of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., has been elected to serve as president of the Insurance Brokers’ Association of the State of New York.

Mr. Fenniman was elected to the Board of Directors in 2014, appointed to the Executive Committee in 2021, and sworn in as president on April 18, 2023.
