Meet IBANY's Featured Speaker
Michael Price is the Chief Executive Officer of North America General Insurance. In his role, he oversees General Insurance’s retail, wholesale, and programs businesses in U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. Additionally, Michael has responsibility for AIG’s Global Travel and Warranty businesses.
Over the past 25 years, Michael has served in a range of underwriting and management roles in the insurance industry. In 2018, Michael joined AIG as the Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer for General Insurance. He helped implement General Insurance’s global underwriting framework and guidelines, in alignment with AIG’s overall risk appetite.
Most recently, Michael was the Global Chief Operating Officer for General Insurance. As COO, Michael was responsible for ensuring strategic alignment between underwriting, operations, and technology. He also oversaw General Insurance’s data strategy.
Before joining AIG, Michael held positions of increasing responsibility at Arch Insurance Group (U.S.), Inc. He was Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer from 2014 to 2018, where he was responsible for underwriting in all business units across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations and oversaw workflow standardization, data analytics and business systems integration for Arch’s U.S. underwriting operations from 2012 to 2014.
Michael’s roots are in the Professional Liability industry, having started his career as an Executive Protection underwriter at Chubb. He spent the first 18 years of his career in the Professional Liability space overseeing books of business in Financial Institutions, Alternative Asset Protection, Public & Private D&O, Cyber and E&O at Arch, the Hartford, National Union (AIG), Reliance and the Chubb Group.
Michael is a graduate of Boston College with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Computer Science.
