Why do we need wholesalers?
We heard from experienced Property & Casualty specialists Kevin Keane, Vice President- Property at CRC New York and Seth Jacobs, Vice President at R-T Specialty, LLC as they discussed what wholesalers really want from retail brokers when they submit, and what it takes to get your submission to the top of the pile.
MODERATOR
Maria Treglia has over 25 years of industry experience and primarily acts as a resource for hundreds of retail brokers in obtaining specialized solutions for their clients in the Directors & Officers (D & O) and Professional Liability (E & O) product areas. She frequently speaks at industry events and has presented for PLUS and The College of Insurance, and participated in discussions regarding malpractice and the current state of the industry. Maria has authored a number of articles on professional liability that have been published and featured in some of the world's top insurance trade publications including National Underwriter, The Solicitor, Real Estate Broker's Insider, Red Orbit, The John Liner Review and Insurance Advocate magazines.
PANELISTS
Kevin Keane has been in the wholesale insurance business for the past 15 years. He is currently employed at CRC Group as Vice President working on Property & Marine insurance placements with a strong emphasis in construction and other unique exposures. Prior to CRC Group, Kevin spent 15+ years as an Underwriter & Underwriter Manager with Chubb and Hartford Steam Boiler. Kevin holds a BBA from Hofstra University, and an MBA from St. John’s University, The Peter J Tobin College of Business.
Kevin’s experience places him in a unique position to consult on how to engage the Excess & Surplus market in today’s market conditions. What should be expected when working with E&S Carriers and understanding of data required to best position your client for favorable market responses will be some of the topics discussed. Kevin lives on Long Island with his wife Veronica, and four boys.
Seth Jacobs has been in the wholesale business for the past 15 years. He is currently employed at RT Specialty as Vice President and is responsible for new business and renewal production. Prior to RT, he was Assistant Vice President at Hartan Brokerage, responsible for building new business and maintaining a renewal book of business. Seth looks at his role in the wholesale community as being an extension to all the retailers he and his team deal with and create partners for long lasting relationships.
He was also AIG's New York Region Assistant Vice President, responsible for all Commercial Accounts in the NYC office. Seth holds a BS from the University of Hartford, and an MBA from Pace University. Seth has been on the board of the East Fishkill Community Library for the past 10 years and coaches soccer for the East Fishkill Soccer League. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Jeanne and their four children.
