The IBANY Professional Education Awards are available for qualified IBANY member companies.

• Support for Professional Licensing/Certification for an Established Employee (2+ years experience) and
• Support for Professional Licensing/Certification for a New Employee (0-2 years experience)

Recipients will be selected from each category. Education awards will be presented at Emerging Leaders Receptions.

Award Categories and Criteria

Support for Professional Licensing Certification for an Established Member Company Employee

This award is designated for a member company employee who has been in the industry for 2+ years and is seeking industry advancement in the form of licensing or certification

Eligibility:

• 2 years of experience in the insurance/risk management industry;
• Submit a resume
• A 500 – 700-word statement on how the applicant got into the insurance industry
• Two letters of recommendation

Support for Professional Licensing or Certification for a Member Company Employee New to the Industry

This award is designated for a member company employee who has less than 2 years of experience and is seeking industry advancement in the form of licensing or certification  

Eligibility:

• No experience required;
• Submit a resume;
• A 500 – 700-word statement on how the applicant got into the insurance industry
• Two letters of recommendation

Support for Child of Member Employee

This award is designated for the child of a member company employee enrolled in a 4-year college or university on an undergraduate level

Eligibility:

• 3.0 or better GPA* or a letter of acceptance for incoming freshmen**;
• Submit a resume including community service and extracurricular actives;
• A 500 – 700-word statement on either the importance of the insurance industry & the economy of the industry; or the various career opportunities in the insurance industry & their benefits

*Transcripts will be required.

**A letter of acceptance will be required at the time that the award is paid.

Selection Process Details

IBANY will launch the application process and applications will be downloadable from the IBANY website. IBANY will coordinate the selection of the award winner and notify the recipient no later than June 5. Confirmation of enrollment in an acceptable certification or licensing program will be required prior to remission of the award funds.

The recipient will receive two complimentary tickets to the Emerging Leaders Reception where the award will be presented. All other guests may register and pay for the event at IBANY.org.
